After fluttering gracefully on the scene a couple of years ago Kiwanuka has been slowly rising in the collective conscious of music lovers. Sliding through indie festivals and gaining recognition online. I'm not just writing about him because I've been told I look like him. (that was just once on a plane, but it's my current claim to fame.) It's because his sound is smooth, he's this generation's golden voice, throwing back sensuous allusions to the likes of Otis Redding. Anything he does this year will be newsworthy. One can only hope he doesn't get sucked into the endless whirlwind of collaborations many artists seem to fancy.
